TSAMTO, August 13. The US Defense Ministry announced the signing by the command for the conclusion of contracts of the US Army with Lockheed Martin Corporation of an agreement for the supply of ATACMS OTR for the national armed forces, as well as for the Armed Forces of Taiwan within the framework of the "Foreign Military Sales"program.
The contract is worth $ 98.116 million. it also provides for the implementation of works within the framework of the program for extending the service life of missile launch kits.
The work will be performed at enterprises in St. Louis (pcs.Missouri), Lufkin (pcs.Texas), Williston (Vermont), Boulder (Colorado), Camden (Arizona), Grand Prairie (USATexas), Clearwater (Florida), Windsor Locks (USAConnecticut). It is planned that the contract will be completed by September 30, 2024.
As reported by TSAMTO, in October 2020, the US State Department approved the potential supply to Taiwan under the Foreign Military Sales program of 11 M142 HIMARS MLRS, 64 containers with M57 tactical missiles( ATACMS), as well as other related equipment, equipment, weapons and services. The total cost of delivery was estimated at $ 436.1 million.
In June 2021, the Ministry of National Defense of Taiwan announced that it had signed two contracts with the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT): for the supply of M-142 HIMARS MLRS and coastal defense systems based on the Harpoon coastal defense systems (HCDS).
The first contracts for the supply of M-142 HIMARS MLRS for the Taiwanese Armed Forces were signed by the US Military Command with Lockheed Martin on July 14, 2021.
