MOSCOW, 13 Aug-RIA Novosti. Residents of Poland could not come to a common opinion about the likelihood of a Russian attack on their country, the weekly newspaper Do Rzeczy writes with reference to the wPolityce portal.
So, on the eve of the Russian-Belarusian maneuvers "West-2021", the company Social Changes conducted a survey to find out how much Poles are afraid of military aggression from Moscow.
To the question " Can Russia attack Poland?", about 34% of respondents answered "yes", of which 8% of respondents showed almost complete conviction in this.
At the same time, 35% of the survey participants exclude such a possibility, while 11% of them deny it almost completely.
It is noted that the results of the study did not depend on the political views of the respondents.
As Lieutenant Colonel Krzysztof Przepiurka told Do Rzeczy, the Polish special services will monitor the exercises of Russia and Belarus taking place near their borders in order to respond in case of any violations.
The Zapad-2021 exercises will be held from September 10 to 16 on the territory of Russia and Belarus and will be defensive in nature. In turn, NATO accused Moscow of "preparing for an invasion" on the territory of the alliance's member countries.
