The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu, highly appreciated the joint actions of Russian and Chinese servicemen during the Sibu/Interaction-2021 exercise, the active phase of which took place in the People's Republic of China at the Qingtunxia training ground.
The head of the Russian military department noted the coherence of actions, high professionalism of the participants of the exercise and awarded the distinguished servicemen.
During the active part of the exercise, the servicemen of Russia and China, having conducted a joint reconnaissance and search, discovered a conditional enemy and then conducted a ground-air anti-terrorist operation. The tactical groups carried out the landing and captured the strongholds of the conditional terrorists, thereby creating favorable conditions for the offensive of the main joint forces.
They also worked out the material and technical support of the troops, the performance of fire tasks with the involvement of aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The total number of troops (forces) that took part in the joint exercise, which began on August 9, is more than 10 thousand people. In particular, 200 armored vehicles, 90 artillery pieces, over 100 aircraft and helicopters were involved. Units of the Ground Forces and the Air Force of the National Liberation Army of China (PLA) were involved.
From the Russian side, motorized rifle units of one of the associations of the Eastern Military District (VVO), Su-30SM aircraft of the Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the VVO, officers of the control bodies took part.
