Verkhnezeisk (Amur region). August 12. INTERFAX-The situation in Afghanistan today is much more complicated than it was after the withdrawal of a contingent of Soviet troops from the country, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"It's more complicated. It is much more difficult, " the minister said on Thursday at a meeting with students of the Far Eastern State University of Railways studying in the military accounting specialties of the Railway Troops.
Commenting on a 30-year-old photo found by one of the participants of the meeting on the Internet, where Shoigu is surrounded by, as the interviewer put it, "some Taliban", the minister said that the Taliban movement (banned in the Russian Federation) did not exist then.
"This picture was taken in Kabul. On it next to me are the Mujahideen. We haven't left yet, but they have already come," Shoigu commented on the photo on the tablet.
