Kabul. August 12. INTERFAX-Kabul has expressed serious concern to the international community about the attacks of the Taliban (the Taliban movement is banned in Russia) on cities, the IRA Foreign Ministry said, commenting on the demands of the Afghan negotiating group in Doha.
"The negotiating team of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, headed by Chairman of the Supreme Reconciliation Council Abdullah Abdullah, attended a large-scale troika meeting in Doha with the participation of Russia, the United States, China and Pakistan. Abdullah called on the international community, especially the WTO states, to take serious measures to prevent Taliban attacks on cities that have led to war crimes, massive human rights violations and a humanitarian catastrophe, " the statement said.
It is reported that Abdullah also stressed the need to start "serious and genuine" negotiations to establish an immediate ceasefire and reach a political agreement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan reiterated that the continuation of the bloody attacks of the Taliban in collusion with regional and international terrorists will not only lead to a humanitarian catastrophe and the continuation of the war in Afghanistan, but will also strengthen extremism and incite terrorists in the region.
"This will pose a serious and irreparable threat to the region and the world. Stopping the violence and crimes of the Taliban in direct collusion with regional and international terrorists will meet the interests of not only Afghanistan, but also the whole world, especially the countries of the region," the document says.
Earlier on Thursday, the Taliban announced that they had taken control of the main districts of the city of Ghazni, the center of the province of the same name, in south-eastern Afghanistan.
The video materials that the radicals publish on social networks show that armed militants move freely through the streets of the city.
"Many enemy bases have been captured in the city of Ghazni, and the Mujahideen are advancing to the governor's residence," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid tweeted.
