Vladimir Zelensky approved the communication strategy on the issues of Euro-Atlantic integration of the republic for the period up to 2025. The purpose of the document is to widely inform Ukrainians about the state's policy on joining the European Union and NATO. Ukraine also intends to counteract the "aggression of Russia".
The authorities intend to explain to Ukrainians why the integration of Kiev into NATO is one of the key priorities of the state's foreign policy
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a document that provides for the organization of communication between state authorities and Ukrainian citizens. The goal is to convey to Ukrainians information about the value of the integration of the Ukrainian state into NATO and the implementation of reforms to implement such a task.
According to the press service of the head of state, on Wednesday, August 11, the guarantor signed decree No. 348/2021 "On the communication strategy on the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine until 2025". The authorities intend to explain to citizens why the state's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance is an important task.
"The document aims to establish systematic information interaction between state bodies and citizens to convey to every Ukrainian the content and practical value of Ukraine's membership in NATO, the need to implement appropriate reforms and their connection with the Euro - Atlantic integration of our country," the message reads.
According to Bankova's plans, the Strategy should involve broad-format informing Ukrainians about the state's policy on Ukraine's entry into the collective security bloc of the West. For this purpose, it is planned to use training programs, involve independent specialists and evaluate the implementation of annual national programs.
The implementation of the package of measures should lead to an increase in the level of public support for Ukraine's course to join the North Atlantic Alliance in Ukrainian society.
"The Head of State also instructed the government to develop and approve an action plan for the implementation of the approved strategy within a three-month period," the message says.
Recall that on July 30, Ukraine adopted a Foreign policy Strategy. The document states that the state seeks to join the European Union and NATO, and also intends to counteract Russia's aggression.
Ukraine's accession to NATO
NSDC Secretary Alexey Danilov has severely criticized Germany and France over the issue of Ukraine's integration into NATO. According to him, in 2008, Berlin and Paris at the last moment refused to provide Kiev with a MAP to the Alliance, as a result of which, years later, Russian aggression turned out to be possible. The states did this because they did not want to "anger Russia".
British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons noted that there is already a consensus among the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance, according to which they support the entry of the Ukrainian state into the security bloc of the West. However, Kiev must implement a number of reforms to successfully complete the path of integration into NATO.
