Kiev. August 10. INTERFAX-UKRAINE-Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran said that the country should ensure the comprehensive readiness of the defense forces to counter "Russian aggression," the press service of the Defense Ministry reports.
"We must ensure the comprehensive readiness of our defense forces to repel criminal plans, and it is this task that the command and staff training, which began today, is performing," the press service of the defense ministry quotes Taran as saying.
The defense Ministry stressed that on August 9, large-scale command and staff training began with the command of the joint forces and other components of the defense forces, in accordance with the Plan for the preparation of the Armed Forces in 2021.
It is noted that active training on land, sea and airspace has begun throughout the territory of Ukraine and will last until August 13, 2021.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, all types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are involved in the current exercises. According to Taran, the combat capabilities of the joint forces, 14 bodies of the military administration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and the State Special Transport Service are being increased at five combined-arms training grounds.
