Kabul. August 9. INTERFAX-The Special Representative and head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, Deborah Lyons, appealed to the President of the Republic Ashraf Ghani with an appeal to immediately stop the violence in the country.
"Today, attention was paid to preventing further terrible harm to the Afghan civilian population as a result of attacks on cities," the UN Mission said in a statement.
It is noted that "as the Taliban (militants of the Taliban movement, banned in the Russian Federation - IF) continue to attack cities in Afghanistan, there is a shocking increase in murders and injuries."
"The UN calls for an immediate end to the attacks. The Afghan leaders must step up their efforts to act in solidarity to end the conflict, " the organization said in a statement published on its website on Monday evening.
