The fighting will continue until the Taliban and the Afghan government begin negotiations
Moscow. August 9. INTERFAX-The special Representatives of the "expanded troika" for Afghanistan (Russia, the United States, Pakistan, China) will discuss the ongoing offensive of the Taliban (members of the Taliban group banned in the Russian Federation - IF) at the upcoming meeting in Doha on August 11, Zamir Kabulov, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, director of the second Asia department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told Interfax on Monday.
"Yes, it will definitely rise. But this shows what we have repeatedly said: that offensives and military options of action will continue until both sides - both the Afghan government and the Taliban-sit down at the negotiating table. This is what we will achieve, " he said, answering the relevant question.
When asked whether the Russian side calls on the Taliban to show restraint, Kabulov replied: "We call on everyone, not just the Taliban. But we don't get carried away with empty appeals, we achieve results."
