Krasnoyarsk. August 6. INTERFAX-Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu will instruct the creation of a scientific and production company (NPR) on the basis of the Makeev State Missile Center (GRC), which will allow young employees to perform military service on the job.
"I think that I will give such an order there and, if the leadership of the Makeev GRC wishes, we can make such a company here, and then the guys can serve on-the-job. It will be, indeed, a service, and not an opportunity to somewhat move away from the need to serve, " Shoigu said on Friday during a meeting with the Krasmash labor collective.
Answering the question whether it is possible to credit work at the plant as an alternative civil service (AGS), the minister said that he does not consider it appropriate.
"I don't think that young people who work at the enterprise need some alternative service. Because today, alternative people are those who, according to their inner beliefs, cannot take up arms. And, of course, appropriate conditions have been created for them. I think that here we need to talk about other things, " Shoigu said.
At the same time, he noted that in order to preserve the personnel potential, create conditions that allow training young people and at the same time, give them the opportunity to fulfill their duty to the state and serve in the army, the military department together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade took a number of measures. One of them is the creation of NPR, which recruits young people who are subject to conscription in the army.
