This was announced on Tuesday by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at a conference call.
"To date, 81 defense departments have already expressed their desire to attend the event," he said. "According to preliminary applications, more than one and a half thousand enterprises and organizations will take part in the forum, which will demonstrate more than 20 thousand product samples."
According to the minister, it is planned to hold more than 180 scientific and business events on military construction, the development of the domestic defense industry and international military cooperation. He called the congress" Artificial Intelligence Technologies in the interests of defense and state security", as well as the congress dedicated to the diversification of the Russian defense industry," The most significant". The Minister also noted that Days of military-technical cooperation will be held for foreign partners at the Alabino training ground and Kubinka airfield.
The forum will feature a specialized exhibition "Arctic", which will introduce visitors to promising models of military equipment used in the Arctic zone, Shoigu said. In addition, the creation of a thematic cluster of artificial intelligence technologies, as well as radio-electronic and information technologies, is timed to coincide with the Year of Science and Technology held in Russia.
"There is no doubt that the popularity of the forum is growing from time to time both among the citizens of the Russian Federation and among our foreign partners. We expect that this year there will be no less interest in it, " the minister said. "It is important," he noted, " that the organizers pay close attention to security issues."
This year, the International Military-Technical Forum and the Army International Games are synchronized for the second time. "All stages of the Army Games and the work of the forum are planned taking into account the established sanitary and epidemiological requirements, and the participants of the competitions are vaccinated against a new coronavirus infection. Today we will discuss what else needs to be done to ensure that the upcoming events are held at a sufficiently high level, " Shoigu concluded.
