MOSCOW, July 29-RIA Novosti. Russia and China will hold joint exercises "Interaction – 2021" in mid-August with the participation of about 10 thousand people, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters on Thursday.
"Units of one of the associations of the Eastern Military District will take part in the joint Russian-Chinese operational and strategic exercise "Sibu/Interaction-2021", which will be held in mid - August 2021 on the territory of the People's Republic of China in accordance with previously reached agreements between the military departments of the two states," the ministry said.
The Defense Ministry clarified that " it is planned to use combat aircraft, artillery and armored vehicles in the exercise, the total number of troops (forces) taking part in the joint exercise will be about 10 thousand people."
The ministry also reported that the drawing of the episodes of the exercises will take place at the Qingtongxia training ground of the PLA Ground Forces, located in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of China. The exercise will be led by the commands of the two countries, for this purpose a joint leadership body will be formed.
During the maneuvers, the issues of management, control of the situation, organization of intelligence, notification, fire destruction of the enemy and information security will be worked out.
"The objectives of the exercise are to strengthen the development of Russian-Chinese relations, comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation, increase the level of military cooperation and friendship between the armed forces of the two countries, demonstrate the determination and ability of Russia and China to fight terrorism, jointly protect peace and stability in the region," the Russian Defense Ministry added.
