In the Volgograd region, at the Prudboy training ground, Russian motorized skirmishers and scouts participating in the upcoming Indra-2021 Russian-Indian exercises conducted night shooting. The fire was conducted from various types of weapons at targets at distances from 200 to 2000 meters.
According to the press service of the Southern Military District, the servicemen performed more than ten exercises of control shooting. 400 targets were used, including mobile ones and simulating enemy armored vehicles.
A reconnaissance group of Indian officers who arrived in Volgograd will have to assess the readiness of the field camp at the Prudboy training ground. The joint training of special forces units, with a total number of up to 500 people, will be held from August 1 to 13.
"The task of the exercise is to increase the readiness of government bodies, forces and means to combat terrorism. The servicemen will perform tactical actions to search, detect and destroy illegal armed formations, " said Colonel Vadim Astafyev, a spokesman for the Southern Military District.
Special attention will be paid to training on the search and destruction of explosive devices in buildings and on the ground.
In 2021, Russian servicemen will conduct exercises with units of the armed forces of Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Armenia, Algeria, India, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Egypt.
