Damascus. July 26. INTERFAX-Russian Ambassador to Damascus Alexander Yefimov called on foreign states and humanitarian organizations to support Syria's efforts to restore peaceful life.
Speaking at a meeting of the interdepartmental coordination headquarters of Russia and Syria on Monday, he noted that the Russian Federation fully supports the Syrian leadership in its desire to achieve the complete elimination of the remaining terrorist elements in the country and the cessation of the illegal foreign presence on Syrian soil and the reconstruction of the country.
"As you know, Russia itself also plays a significant role in solving these tasks. We call on all foreign players to support us in this noble aspiration. We know that this attitude is shared to one degree or another by a number of foreign governments, as well as many representatives of the international humanitarian community," Yefimov said.
"It's a small matter to start concrete practical measures and work together, complementing each other's efforts," the ambassador added.
According to him, Russia provides Syria with the necessary material assistance in various spheres. Efimov noted the next deliveries of wheat to the republic from Russia, which started in March 2021, which are designed to cover the urgent needs of Syrians in this resource.
"Of course, we continue to closely coordinate with Damascus on the political track - in defending the sovereignty, national unity, territorial integrity of the SAR and the right of Syrians to independently determine the future of their country," the head of the Russian diplomatic mission said.
