Kabul. July 23. INTERFAX-The Afghan Taliban movement (banned in the Russian Federation) issued a statement in which it sharply condemned the US airstrikes carried out on July 22 in the provinces of Kandahar and Helmand, noting that such attacks are a clear violation of the Doha Peace Agreement and will have consequences.
"Last night, the American occupation forces carried out airstrikes in Kandahar province and some areas of the Afghan province of Helmand, as a result of which civilians and some mujahideen were killed and wounded. The Islamic Emirate (as the Taliban call themselves - IF) condemns these barbaric attacks in the strongest possible terms, this is a clear violation of the signed agreement, which will have consequences, " the Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a document distributed on Friday evening on behalf of the movement.
"Ashraf Ghani, the head of the Kabul administration, announced in his commando unit that he is planning a major operation in the next six months. The Islamic Emirate also warns that in the next six months, the responsibility for any military actions will fall on the leaders of the Kabul administration. The Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate will firmly defend their territories, and the war with the enemy will continue. In this case, the Islamic Emirate will not take a defensive position, " the statement says.
At the same time, the Taliban representative noted that the movement " takes a principled and peaceful position, but our external and internal enemies are taking anti-peaceful measures and are not interested in reconciliation."
