INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN-An agreement on the organization of assembly production of Kalashnikov assault rifles on the territory of Kazakhstan was signed within the framework of the international aviation space salon MAKS-2021 in Zhukovsky near Moscow, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the republic reported.
"Within the framework of MAKS-2021, an agreement was signed on the organization of licensed assembly production of Kalashnikov assault rifles on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the press service said in a statement issued on Thursday.
"Bilateral cooperation in the field of joint production of modern small arms of the AK-12 and AK-15 type will start in August of this year," the ministry noted.
