Dushanbe. July 22. INTERFAX-Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said that there is no military solution to the Afghan problem, and a way out of the current situation should be found peacefully.

"The situation in our neighboring country - the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, especially in the northern regions bordering our country, remains extremely difficult and uncertain, and their situation is deteriorating day by day and even hour by hour," Rahmon said, speaking to the personnel of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies of the country.

"The time has come for politicians, leaders of all political parties and movements, intellectuals, high-ranking officials and the entire people of this country to unite and save their homeland, state and nation from instability and disintegration," he stressed.

According to him, the Afghans are not to blame for such tragic events.

"These destructive processes are the result of foreign interference in the internal affairs of a neighboring country, which has lasted for more than 40 years," the President of Tajikistan noted.

Rahmon recalled that the people of his country also experienced such a tragedy ," that is, a foreign intervention that led to the outbreak of an imposed civil war in the early 1990s, and its severe consequences are still being felt."

"As a result of the war, more than 150 thousand of our citizens were killed, 50 thousand children were orphaned. Given such a bitter historical experience, we will never interfere in the internal affairs of our neighbors. We also strongly declare that we will never use our Armed Forces against neighboring countries, " the leader of Tajikistan stressed.

"We always stand for peace and stability in our neighboring countries, and we live with them in an atmosphere of peace, stability, friendship and cooperation," Rahmon said.

In the morning, as part of the Border - 2021 exercise, all units of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies of the country numbering 100 thousand personnel were alerted and put on full combat readiness. More than 130 thousand reserve officers and soldiers are also involved in the exercises.
