INTERFAX-During military exercises in Tajikistan, all units of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies of the country numbering 100 thousand personnel, as well as more than 130 thousand reserve officers and soldiers have been alerted and put on full combat readiness, Defense Minister of the Republic Sherali Mirzo said in his report to President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The President of Tajikistan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces of the country visited the Control Center of the Armed forces on Thursday morning. The broadcast was carried out live by republican TV channels.
Mirzo reported to Rahmon that all units of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies of the country numbering 100 thousand personnel were alerted and put on full combat readiness.
"During the exercises, 1023 units of armored vehicles, 3167 units of special vehicles, 447 units of artillery installations, cannons and mortars, 254 units of air defense equipment, 45 units of aircraft and combat helicopters were relocated to the designated places," the minister said.
According to him, more than 130 thousand reserve officers and soldiers are also involved in the exercises.
The chairmen of the city of Dushanbe and the regions, who head the territorial defense zones, reported on full combat readiness to the president via videoconference.
