The head of the corporation Boris Obnosov called the new missile a breakthrough model of weapons
ZHUKOVSKY /Moscow region/, July 21. /TASS/. The development of the hypersonic missile "Zircon" is proceeding according to the schedule. This was announced to journalists during the MAKS-2021 air show by Boris Obnosov, General Director of the Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation (KTRV).
"The development of "Zircon" is on schedule, " he informed.
According to the head of KTRV, the new missile is a breakthrough model of weapons. "This is a very complex weapon. I personally attended several trials. A stunning effect, " Obnosov said.
He added that it is impossible to stop developing hypersonic weapons. "Our competitors can catch up with us on hypersonic if we stop," Obnosov stressed.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that hypersonic missiles "Zircon", capable of reaching a speed of about 9 M and hitting targets at a distance of more than 1 thousand km, will be put on combat duty in the near future.
Development of ammunition for drones
Obnosov said that the development of aviation weapons of destruction (ASP) designed to equip attack unmanned aerial vehicles is one of the key priorities of the KTRV.
"This is a priority for us. A few years ago, we worked on the topic of "Hummingbird", within the framework of which the necessary scientific and technical groundwork was formed for the creation of inertial guidance systems and homing heads that have found practical application in small-sized ammunition," he said.
According to him, KTRV has all the competencies for the production of small-sized high-precision ammunition for equipping attack drones. "Currently, the corporation has the necessary scientific and technical groundwork for creating high-precision TSA of caliber 50 and 100 kg," Obnosov noted.
He added that the corporation is working closely with companies such as Kronstadt and Ural Civil Aviation Plant to create TSA for such drones.
Export of KTRV
Obnosov said that the export of KTRV will exceed $1 billion in 2021.
"By the end of 2020, the volume of exports of military products amounted to $800 million. This year we will exceed $1 billion, " Obnosov informed.
According to him, the growth of exports of military products will be ensured through the creation of new products. "In this regard, much attention is paid to development work," Obnosov informed.
The head of KTRV noted that the total revenue of the corporation in 2020 amounted to 240 billion rubles. "This is 7% more than in the previous year," he added.
This year, the International Aviation and Space Salon celebrates its 15th anniversary. It takes place from July 20 to 25 in Zhukovsky, near Moscow.
