Zhukovsky. July 21. INTERFAX-Russia is ready to offer India the Pantsir-S short-range air defense systems in the development of the contract for the supply of S-400 air defense systems, the head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, told Interfax.
"If the Indian Defense Ministry is interested, the Russian side is ready to offer Pantsir-S complexes for any program," Mikheev said at the MAKS - 2021 air show in Zhukovsky, near Moscow.
"We can talk about the Make in India strategic partnership program or within the framework of a tender," Mikheev said.
According to him, the supply of "Shells" can be "support for the S-400 program".
It was reported that the "Shells" are used for the defense of S-400 systems.
In early October 2018, a contract for the supply of S-400 Triumph air defense systems to India was signed on the sidelines of the Russian-Indian high-level talks. India will receive five regimental sets of S-400, the transaction amount exceeds $5 billion. It is expected that the first deliveries of the S-400 to India will take place before the end of 2021.
The S-400 Triumph system (Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region) is designed to destroy strategic and tactical aircraft, ballistic missiles, hypersonic targets and other means of air attack. The system is capable of hitting aerodynamic targets at a range of up to 400 km, as well as ballistic targets flying at a speed of up to 4.8 km/s at altitudes from several meters to several tens of kilometers at a range of up to 60 km.
