Zhukovsky (Moscow region). July 20. INTERFAX-A batch of S-400s planned for delivery to India in the fourth quarter is at the final stage of production, the head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, told Interfax on Tuesday.
"The first part, which is planned for delivery (this year, is "IF") it is in the final stage of production, " Mikheev said on the sidelines of MAKS-2021.
"There is a shipment in the fourth quarter. The training of the first batch of specialists has already taken place. Everything is according to the plan, " he said.
It was officially reported that in early October 2018, a contract for the supply of S-400 Triumph air defense systems to India (Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region) was signed "on the sidelines" of the Russian-Indian negotiations at the highest level. Under the contract with a total value of $5.43 billion, India will receive five S-400 regimental sets. It is expected that the first regimental set will be delivered by the end of 2021, and all systems - by the end of 2024.
On February 14, 2019, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that the Russian Federation began to receive an advance from India for the S-400. A few days later, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov announced the start of production of the S-400 for India.
