Kiev. July 19. INTERFAX-UKRAINE-More than 1.2 thousand servicemen from the United States, Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland are taking part in the multinational tactical exercise "Three Swords - 2021" to protect the territory from an external aggressor, which started on Monday near Lviv, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
"The exercises are attended by affiliated units with high potential capabilities, strong and interchangeable military formations that, if necessary, are able to jointly hold and destroy a potential enemy," the message published on Facebook says.
It is noted that during the exercises, which will last until July 30, a number of unique trainings will be held aimed at working out joint tasks for the defense of the territory from an external aggressor.
"The Three Swords - 2021 exercises will begin with the planning process by the headquarters for the active involvement of units in the development of Situational Training Exercises (STX) on tactics, equipment and procedures," the General Staff notes.
They specify that more than 1,200 military personnel, 200 combat vehicles from four participating countries will take part in the exercises: Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine and the United States. Ukraine will be represented by a unit of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
