A Chinese reusable suborbital spacecraft has made its first flight, Xinhua reports.
According to the agency, the product landed at the Alashan-Yutsi airfield (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region) after the flight. The launch and landing of the ship took place on July 16. It is noted that the flight "was completely successful".
The agency's message emphasizes that this ship "can be used in the space transportation system," and its successful flight " laid a solid foundation for the development of a reusable space transportation system in China."
In September 2020, the publication SpaceNews, referring to the Chinese corporation China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), reported that China carried out a secret launch of an "experimental reusable spacecraft" — possibly an analogue of the mini-shuttle X-37B of the US Air Force.
