Moscow. July 16. INTERFAX-The website of the Russian Defense Ministry was subjected to a DDoS attack from abroad, the ministry said on Friday.
"The computer security service of the military department is implementing measures to neutralize the negative impact to ensure access to the site for all Internet users," the report says.
"According to the currently confirmed data, the source of the attack on the website of the Russian Defense Ministry on the Internet is located outside the Russian Federation," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
As the correspondent of Interfax reported, the website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is currently working.
"There are no violations in the operability of the software and technical infrastructure of the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense," the ministry said.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the department's website was subjected to a DDoS attack on Friday at about 10:00 Moscow time. Some users may have difficulties accessing the site, the military said.
The number of hacker attacks on Russia's critical information infrastructure increased 3.5 times in 2020, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Oleg Khramov said on July 7.
On June 24, at an international conference in Moscow, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev, said that in 2020, more than 120 thousand cyber attacks were recorded in Russia.
"Most of them were carried out from the territory of the United States, Germany and the Netherlands and were directed against the objects of state administration, the military-industrial complex, healthcare, transport, science and education of our country," Patrushev said at the time.
