More than 25 military echelons and more than 45 flights of military aircraft were involved in providing transportation
MOSCOW, July 16. /TASS/. More than 134 thousand people were called up and sent for military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and other military formations during the spring conscription campaign of 2021. This was reported to journalists in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"In accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of March 29, 2021, in the spring of this year, more than 134 thousand people were called up and sent to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, military formations and bodies," the ministry said.
They clarified that more than 350 young people were sent to scientific and scientific-production companies (in total, more than 650 people serve in scientific companies). There are more than 150 people in sports companies, where members of the Russian national team in Olympic sports are sent (about 400 people serve in sports companies).
The ministry noted that more than 25 military echelons, more than 45 flights of military aircraft, more than 65 charter flights of civil aviation, about 2 thousand individual cars as part of passenger trains, as well as motor transport of military units were involved in providing transportation.
The ministry recalled that this is the third call of citizens for military service in the conditions of the spread of coronavirus infection. Barrier control organized at conscription and assembly points, as well as testing of conscripts, made it possible to timely identify and prevent more than 3.5 thousand citizens infected with coronavirus infection from being called up for military service.
"Despite the difficult epidemiological situation, the spring draft of 2021 was completed with due quality and on time," the Russian Defense Ministry concluded.
