Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Yunus-Bek Yevkurov checked the venues of the Russian-Belarusian strategic exercises "West-2021"in Belarus. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry.
In particular, the deputy head of the Russian military department, together with the leadership of the Belarusian Defense Ministry, checked the readiness of the objects of the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground.
It is noted that the Russian and Belarusian sides clarified the plan of practical actions of the troops (forces) at the joint exercise, the areas of deployment of control points and the areas of concentration of troops.
In addition, representatives of the defense departments of the two states agreed on the procedure for working out combat training tasks and practical actions of troops on the ground. We also discussed the procedure for separate and joint coordination of formations and military units in preparation for upcoming actions, the scope and procedure for implementing comprehensive support measures.
Recall that the joint maneuvers "West-2021" will be held on the territory of Russia and Belarus in the period from 10 to 16 September this year. As part of the exercises, the readiness of the armed forces of the two countries to protect the Union State will be checked.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the strategic command and staff exercises "West-2021" will be preceded by a whole series of preparatory exercises .
