INTERFAX-The ninth Moscow Conference on International Security, which was held from June 22 to 24 in the Russian capital, became the first high-level platform this year, where specialized specialists personally discussed topical issues of security in the world, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"Despite the sanitary restrictions, 700 delegates from 109 countries and six international organizations, as well as 94 representatives of foreign non - governmental organizations and an expert in the field of security attended it (the conference-"IF")," Shoigu said on a conference call on Tuesday.
He noted that 55 delegations were headed by defense ministers, their deputies and chiefs of general staffs, some heads of defense departments participated in the event via videoconference.
"This year, the forum became the first high - level platform where military specialists discussed topical issues of security in the world in person," Shoigu stressed.
According to him, "special attention was paid to various aspects of global and regional stability, as well as to the development of military cooperation in the context of a pandemic and the complication of the international situation."
