TSAMTO, July 13. The final planning conference on the preparation of the first joint Russian-Algerian tactical exercise was held in Vladikavkaz.
Representatives of the command of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District and the Algerian National People's Army approved the dates, the plan and scenario of the exercise, the composition of forces and means.
During the conference, the members of the delegations of the two countries agreed on the procedure for crossing the state border, accommodation and nutrition of personnel, organization of logistics.
The task of the exercise is to increase the readiness of management bodies, forces and means to combat terrorism. The servicemen will perform tactical actions to search, detect and destroy illegal armed formations, search and destroy conditional explosive devices, conduct radiation, chemical and biological reconnaissance in buildings and on the ground.
The exercise will take place in October this year at the Tarskoye training ground in North Ossetia. It is planned to involve about 80 servicemen of motorized rifle formations of the Southern Military District stationed in the North Caucasus, and about 80 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Algeria.
The combat training plan for the Southern Military District troops in 2021 provides for the participation of military personnel of the district in international exercises with units of the armed forces of Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Armenia, Algeria, India, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Egypt.
International joint events are held in accordance with the plan of international activities and are aimed at strengthening and developing military cooperation between the countries, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
