Moscow. July 12. INTERFAX-The Kremlin said that the United States did not transmit any specific data related to cybercriminals, but the presidents of Russia and the United States expressed their readiness to act together in this area.
The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, speaking to journalists, noted that during the summit in Geneva, the Russian side noted the need to provide clear information and perform clear actions, which are also specified in the 1999 Agreement between Russia and the United States on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Cases.
"So far, no such detailed information has been transmitted. But, nevertheless, the two presidents noted the desire to act together and continue the mechanism of consultations on cybersecurity, which has already actually started working, " Peskov said.
In accordance with the Agreement, he recalled, the contact agencies are the Federal Security Service and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, and the document clearly specifies the data that should be given. "Actually, President Putin said that we should use the provisions of this Treaty, the very legal framework that exists between our two states," he said.
