London. July 11. INTERFAX-The Indian authorities have evacuated several dozen employees of their consulate from the Afghan city of Kandahar for security reasons, Western media reported on Sunday.
"The Consulate General in Kandahar is not closed. However, given the intense fighting near Kandahar, the Indian employees have returned to their homeland, " the Indian Foreign Ministry explained. At the same time, the consulate continues to work: there are still Afghan employees in it.
The reports note that according to some reports, about 50 Indian employees of the consulate left Kandahar.
