INTERFAX-Amid the intensification of hostile actions against the DPRK and the People's Republic of China, the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the two countries contributes to ensuring peace and stability throughout the world, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said in a telegram to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"Now, at a time when hostile forces are stepping up challenges and actions, the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the DPRK and China is demonstrating its growing viability in protecting and promoting the socialist cause of the two countries, ensuring peace and stability in Asia and the rest of the world," the Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA) quotes Kim Jong - un's message on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the treaty.
The telegram says that "despite the unprecedented difficult international situation in recent years, friendly trust and military friendship between the DPRK and China are strengthening day by day." It is constantly being improved "in all areas, such as politics, economics, the armed forces and culture."
KCNA notes that the message emphasizes the immutability of the position of the Workers ' Party of Korea and the DPRK in the continuous development of friendship and cooperation relations between the DPRK and China, "as new times require and as the peoples of the two countries wish."
