Iran has its own "Javelin"

Iran has a new high-tech ATGM. Yesterday, on July 7, the Tasnim news agency reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) received a rocket called "Almaz".

The Almaz ATGM was created on the basis of the air-launched missile of the same name, presented in 2017 as the standard armament of the Ababil-III drone. At the presentation of the ATGM, it was stated that it has a high-tech homing head and a tandem warhead.

The stated range of hitting targets is up to 8 km, but it hardly corresponds to reality (most likely, this is the range when launched from the air, in the "ground-to-ground" version this parameter will be significantly smaller). Some military experts have already seen the similarity of the " Diamond "with the Israeli Spike ATGM, hinting that Iran could create its own missile based on the Israeli" trophy " by reverse engineering.
