The French MMP ATGM turned out to be very successful. Yesterday, July 3, the portal defenseworld.net he reported that the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) has signed an agreement with the Swedish Defense Procurement Agency (FMV) to create new missiles based on the French counterpart Javelin.
In Sweden, MBDA's partner will be Saab. The parties have not yet disclosed the details of the transaction. Most likely, we will talk about the localization of production and adaptation of the rocket to new launch platforms.

MMP (Missile Moyenne Portee-medium-range missiles) have been developed by MBDA since 2011, and in 2013 the manufacturer and the French Defense Ministry signed a contract for the supply of 2,850 missiles and 400 launchers for the French army.
MMP refers to the fifth-generation combat ground complexes with a combined-type guidance system, including a thermal and television homing head, an inertial system and having the ability to guide over a fiber-optic cable. This allows you to launch from closed positions, re-aim missiles during flight, as well as perform complex maneuvers during their approach to the target.
The maximum range of MMP missiles is 5 km. In service with the French army, new missiles should replace the Milan ATGM (used since 1972) and the American Javelin. In the future, MBDA plans to create MMP missile launchers for armored vehicles and aviation. In addition, the company is developing the "older brothers" of the MMP-MLP and MHP missiles, which have a similar control and homing system, but with a longer range.
