MOSCOW, July 3-RIA Novosti. The adoption of the new version of the national security strategy of the Russian Federation indicates readiness for conflict and is a message to the world that Russia "will not allow the build-up of hostile forces along the perimeter of its borders," says Bogdan Bezpalko, a member of the Council on Interethnic Relations under the President of Russia.
"The adoption of such documents and such a strategy is a preparation for a possible military conflict, a clear signal to everyone that we do not want this conflict, but we will be ready for it, if necessary, that we will not allow the build - up of hostile forces, potentials, armed objects along the perimeter of our borders, because this becomes critically threatening to the security of our country," the expert said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The version of the national security strategy adopted on Saturday uses the phrase "the United States and its allies" in relation to the source of outgoing threats. In particular, the "Defense of the Country" block states that the planned deployment of American medium-and shorter-range missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region poses a threat to strategic stability and international security.
According to Bezpalko, the document is a reflection of the events that have been taking place around Russia in recent years, including those that are of the nature of military incidents.
"Here we can recall the case of a Ukrainian military boat that tried to enter the Russian waters, the last incident with the British Defender, similar incidents in the Black Sea with American warships are immediately recalled, when several ships of the Black Sea Fleet were even forced to ram," the expert cites examples.
"This is a reflection of the growing tension in the world and around Russia. This also means Ukraine, where, in violation of the country's constitution, military bases of foreign states exist and are being built," Bezpalko stated.
