The rocket reached a maximum altitude of 99 km, after which it fell into the Pacific Ocean
TOKYO, July 3. /TASS/. The private Japanese company Interstellar Technologies on Saturday successfully launched a rocket of its own development MOMO. She announced this on her Twitter.
The launch was carried out from the cosmodrome on the northern island of Hokkaido. The rocket reached a maximum altitude of 99 km, after which it fell into the Pacific Ocean. Interstellar Technologies carried out the previous successful tests in 2019. In addition, there were four unsuccessful launches.
The length of the rocket is 10 m, the diameter is 50 cm, and the weight is about a ton. This time, as in the past, Interstellar Technologies raised money for the launch using a crowdfunding platform. The cost of the project, according to some estimates, is about 50 million yen ($445 thousand). The company hopes to establish commercial production of compact rockets designed to launch ultra-small satellites into orbit.
