Seven Lithuanian servicemen and two more employees of the Shvenchensky district training ground were suspected of stealing dry rations for the US military. About this on Friday, July 2, Sputnik Lithuania writes with reference to the press service of the prosecutor's office.
"According to the investigation, two servicemen at the Shvenchensky district training ground and a company commander are accused of theft, abuse, bribery and bribery.<...> Two people who worked under an employment contract on the territory of the training ground are accused of theft," the agency reports.
According to him, four more soldiers were also charged with theft and abuse.
As investigators found out, in the spring of 2020, at least 1,176 boxes with 14 thousand dry rations for feeding soldiers of the US Army battalion stationed in Lithuania were stolen at the training ground in the Shvenchensky district.
Property damage is estimated at more than €121 thousand, writes " Newspaper.ru ".
It is assumed that the suspects took out food in official cars and sold it with the assistance of a bribed company commander.
In accordance with the legislation of Lithuania, robbers face a penalty of up to eight years in prison.
