Peskov: Kiev's aspiration towards NATO may add instability to the entire European continent
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. July 1. INTERFAX-The management of Ukraine from the outside is a "red line", Russian President Vladimir Putin and the country's leadership are preparing such security measures that will insure Moscow in case of Kiev's provocative aspirations, said the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
"This is a "red line", Ukraine is not an independent state, it is a state that is under the direct influence of other countries, more precisely, another country-the United States. This is a country that believes that it is possible to solve its internal problems, I mean the problems of Donbass, by joining NATO, by joining the anti-Russian military alliance, "Peskov said on the air of the Big Game program of Channel One.
Peskov stressed that this is a very serious misconception. "Striving towards NATO, on the contrary, can add more instability to the entire European continent, in fact, it can destroy the prospects for normalization of relations between Russia and Ukraine and add a fair amount of tension along the entire perimeter of our borders," he said.
For the President of the Russian Federation, Peskov noted, this is a great concern and " a reason for taking measures to ensure the security of our borders, to ensure the same parity on the European continent."
