Washington. June 29. INTERFAX-The US military in Syria was subjected to rocket fire, said the representative of the US coalition, Colonel Wayne Marotto.
"At about 19: 44 local time, the US forces in Syria were attacked by several missiles. There are no injuries, the damage is being assessed. We will provide additional data when we have more information, " he wrote on Twitter.
Marotto added that the US forces returned fire in self-defense.
"The US forces in Syria, being under attack by numerous missiles, acted in self-defense and conducted counter-battery artillery fire on missile launch positions," the representative of the coalition said.
Earlier, the Syrian news agency SANA reported that the area of the deployment of the American armed forces near the Omar oil field in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor was subjected to rocket fire on Monday.
