A new amphibious vehicle is being developed for the Russian Marine Corps. Yesterday, June 27, the portal flotprom.ru he reported that the KRIZO plant presented civil and military versions of cars based on the Niva SUV.

The units of the five-door VAZ-2131 "Niva"are used as the base of the civilian version. The" heart " of the military version will be the ZMZ-514 diesel. According to the developers, the military amphibian, which is currently at the stage of development work, will be able to glide at a speed of up to 50 km / h. The main consumer at the KRIZO plant is called the Marine Corps.

Last year, the Drozd amphibious vehicle was presented at the Army 2020 Forum. The new development of the KRIZO plant can become a competitor to the Drozd or complement this machine in the service.
