Gaussin Platform
After a successful series of tests with the participation of auto giants Hyundai and Toyota, many global automakers began to show increased interest in hydrogen-fueled cars.
An example of this is the French company Gaussin, which has developed a hydrogen modular platform for express-route trucks, on the basis of which trucks ranging in size from 5.5 to 13.5 m and wheeled tractors of the 8th traction class will be created in the future.
Gaussin Platform
We are talking about two versions of the platform. The first one is a hydrogen one with tanks and fuel cells with a refueling time of no more than 20 minutes and an 800-kilometer run. The second is fully electric with electric motors, batteries, a power reserve of 400 km and the ability to replace dead batteries in three minutes. The speed of both versions is up to 90 km / h.
Gaussin Platform
Gaussin reports that the platform chassis is almost half a ton lighter than that of conventional trucks, which does not exclude the possibility of both increasing its weight (and other characteristics) and reducing it, depending on the purpose. The loading capacity of the platform is up to 40 tons. The equipment is attached with a universal plate. Another advantage is an open interface for software that provides an offline mode of operation.
