TSAMTO, June 25. Tatrabras held its first presentation on the Brazilian market of all-terrain trucks with a 6x6 wheel formula equipped with Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines, which will be produced in the state of Paraná from September.
The company also intends to organize the assembly of vehicles with an 8x8 wheel formula for the civil and military sectors of the market.
As reported by Infodefensa.com the Czech company Tatra Trucks is investing about 102.7 million reais ($20.7 million) in the creation of the group's first plant outside Europe, which will be located in Ponta Grossa (Parana). According to forecasts, in the period up to 2026, about 300 jobs will be created at the enterprise of the division.
Negotiations on the establishment of an enterprise in Parana began about three years ago, and a protocol of intent with the state government was signed in September 2020.
Initially, it was expected that the assembly line in Brazil would start operating in early 2021, but the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic have negatively affected these plans. Now the opening of production is scheduled for the last quarter of this year. At the first stage, it will be carried out in the CKD mode, which provides for the import of all components and the assembly of the finished product at the enterprise in Parana.
Nevertheless, Tatrabras assures that later the project will include all stages of the production of components, engines and other components by Brazilian companies.
Initially, it is projected that 100 trucks will be produced in the first year of operation in the state of Parana, but the plant will have the capacity to produce from 800 to 1000 cars per year.
