The MILEX 2021 military-technical salon is being held in Minsk. During its work, the course of strengthening the military and defense-industrial cooperation of our countries was confirmed.
In particular, according to the leadership of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, Russia is ready to consider Belarus ' application for the purchase of S-400 long-range anti-aircraft missile defense systems and Pantsir-S short-range air defense systems in a short time.
"We are in close contact with our Belarusian colleagues on all issues in the field of military-technical cooperation, and if we receive a corresponding request for the supply of the S-400 air defense system and the Pantsir-S1 air defense system, this issue will be worked out as soon as possible," Andrei Boytsov, first deputy director of the FSMTC of Russia, told reporters.
On January 14, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus Igor Golub said that Belarus plans to conclude a contract with Russia for the supply of S-400 Triumph air defense systems and Pantsir-S complexes.
Earlier, the head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, announced the company's plans to increase the level of cooperation with Belarus in a number of areas.
It also became known that the concern of East Kazakhstan Region "Almaz-Antey" and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus on the sidelines of the X International Exhibition of Weapons and Military Equipment MILEX 2021 approved a cooperation scheme for the repair of combat vehicles from the Tor-M2K anti-aircraft missile systems in the interests of the Belarusian military department.
In accordance with the document, it is planned that part of the work on the repair and maintenance of the Tor-M2K air defense system will be carried out on the territory of the Republic of Belarus with the involvement of the 2566 plant for the repair of electronic weapons and the Minsk plant of wheeled tractors. The Izhevsk Electromechanical plant "Kupol"will be involved in cooperation through the concern.
"The approved cooperation scheme is a significant stage in the sphere of our cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus and the most important step in the creation of a service center for the repair and maintenance of the Tor air defense system on the territory of our partners," said Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, Deputy General Director for Foreign Economic Affairs. He specified that this work is being carried out under the international Agreement on the development of military-technical cooperation.
Vyacheslav Dzirkaln recalled that military products developed and manufactured by the Almaz-Antey concern of East Kazakhstan Region are in service with dozens of countries around the world. The holding's activities in the field of military-technical cooperation cover a huge segment of the market for repair, maintenance, modernization of previously delivered products.
