MOSCOW, June 23-RIA Novosti. Russia will sign a number of new agreements on military and military-technical cooperation with African countries at the Moscow Conference on International Security, Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu said.
"To date, many African armies are armed with Soviet-designed samples. They are highly efficient, reliable, and easy to use. These qualities are fully inherent in Russian-made equipment, which is also widely represented on the continent, " he said at the Moscow Conference on International Security.
"Today, we have agreements on military and military-technical cooperation with almost all countries in the region. "It is planned to sign a number of similar agreements on the sidelines of the forum, which will open up opportunities for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation and training, as well as the introduction of advanced methods of conducting exercises and training," Shoigu added.
Russia does not intend to oppose anyone in cooperation with the states of Africa and Latin America, said Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.
"The Ministry of Defense adheres to the same line when building relations with partners in Latin America," Shoigu added.
