During a recent meeting between the presidents of Turkey and the United States, it was agreed that the Turkish military will remain in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of NATO troops to ensure the security of the Kabul International Airport. On the sidelines of the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, the Afghan Foreign Minister made the following statement in this regard.
Milliyet newspaper interviewed Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar on the sidelines of a diplomatic forum in Antalya.
The Foreign Minister noted that the Afghan government fully supports Turkey's proposal to stay in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of NATO troops to ensure the security of the Kabul International Airport, adding that the Afghan people will always be happy for Turkey.
Atmar stressed that the Afghan government will never submit to the pressure of the "Taliban" (the terrorist organization is banned in the Russian Federation - ed.) and Turkey is the most reliable brother in this process.
