Khabarovsk. June 22. INTERFAX-The Far EAST-Eastern Military District (VVO) and the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) have started negotiations on holding joint exercises "West/Interaction-2021" on the territory of the People's Republic of China, the press service of the VVO reports.
"In Khabarovsk, negotiations with representatives of the PLA on the organization of the participation of the VVO units in the joint operational and strategic exercise" West/Interaction-2021 "have started," the report says.
It is expected that by the end of the week, the parties will agree on the order of arrival of the Russian military contingent in China, the plan of exercises and the order of logistics.
"Previously, the personnel of the motorized rifle unit up to and including the battalion, the operational and tactical aviation units, and the combined army aviation detachment will take part in the maneuvers," said Colonel Ivan Taraev, head of the International Military Cooperation Department of the Air Force, as quoted by the press service.
