The agreement on the joint (unified) communication system of the armed forces of the CIS member states is aimed at improving the stability of the management of the troops of the parties in solving joint tasks. This was stated on Monday by the head of the Main Communications Department of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Vadim Shamarin.
"The entry into force of the federal law on the ratification of the agreement will increase the stability of the management of the armed forces of the CIS member states in solving joint tasks," he said at a meeting of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, where the law on the ratification of the agreement was considered.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Defense, the agreement is aimed at the comprehensive development of the joint communication system, including ensuring the compatibility of national and foreign-made communication systems and means in service, and improving the regulatory framework in the field of military communications.
"The implementation of the federal law on its ratification will not entail additional expenses from the federal budget and will not affect the achievement of the goals of the state programs of the Russian Federation," Shamarin also said.
The agreement is aimed at forming and improving the regulatory framework, including a sustainable financing mechanism and coordinated development of the communication system in solving joint tasks, taking into account the priority equipment of the troops with means of communication. The document will also ensure the continuity and compatibility of systems and complexes of military communications of national and foreign production, the implementation of scientific and technical achievements in the field of military communications.
