Moscow. June 19. INTERFAX-Shvabe Holding will soon supply a mirror for the Turkish DAG telescope in Anatolia, the press service of the holding told Interfax.
"According to the decision of all project participants, the terms of commissioning of the complex were shifted to the autumn of 2021. Now the mirror, which is located in the area of responsibility of the Russian side, is at the finishing stage. In the near future, in accordance with the terms of the project, it will be transported to the customer's facility," the press service reported.
On June 17, the head of the Turkish Space Agency, Serdar Hussein Yildirim, said that the construction of the DAG telescope in Anatolia is almost complete, and the agency is waiting for the delivery of a mirror from Russia for commissioning.
In 2016, Shvabe reported on the beginning of work on a 4-meter mirror for the Turkish telescope. According to the holding, the operation of the telescope was supposed to begin in 2019.
In February 2018, the holding company reported that work on the mirror should be completed by the fall.
