According to the CNA news agency, citing Taiwan's MNO, the cost of buying "high-precision long-range destruction systems" (HIMARS) is about 9.62 billion. tyv. ($346 million). The contract entered into force on June 1. The systems are expected to be delivered to Taiwan by 2027. According to the agency, the Taiwan Air Defense Command is responsible for the implementation of this agreement.
The purchase of coastal defense systems will be carried out under the control of the Navy command. This contract came into force on May 19. The cost of the systems is estimated at $ 9.62 billion. tyv. (about $ 1.4 billion), and delivery is expected to be completed by 2028. Other details of the purchase of weapons are not disclosed for reasons of secrecy.
As reported by TSAMTO, in October 2020, the US State Department approved the potential delivery to Taiwan under the Foreign Military Sales program (FMS) of 11 M-142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems) MLRS, 64 containers with M57 tactical missiles (ATACMS) with a unitary high-explosive warhead, 7 M-1151A1 armored vehicles (HMMWV), as well as other related equipment, equipment, weapons and services. The total cost of delivery may be $ 436.1 million.
In the same month, the US State Department approved the delivery of up to 100 HCDS coastal defense systems to Taiwan under the FMS program, which will include up to 400 RGM-84L-4 Harpoon Block-2 anti-ship missiles, as well as other related equipment, radar, equipment and services. The total cost of this program could be $ 2.37 billion.
