Beijing " is exploring opportunities to make an even greater contribution to the development of cosmonautics together with the Russian side"
JIUQUAN / China/, June 16. /TASS/. China is confident in the prospects for expanding cooperation with Russia in space in many areas. This was stated on Wednesday by the assistant head of the Office of the Manned Space Flight Program of the People's Republic of China Ji Qiming.
"I believe that China and Russia will soon expand cooperation on even more projects in space," he said at a press conference, answering a question from TASS.
According to Ji Qiming, Beijing is " exploring opportunities to make an even greater contribution to the development of space exploration together with the Russian side."
In March, the Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin and the head of the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) Zhang Kejian signed a memorandum of understanding on behalf of the two governments on cooperation in the creation of an international Scientific lunar Station. Cooperation between the two countries involves both the study of the lunar surface and the implementation of joint projects in the orbit of a natural satellite of the Earth.
In November 2017, Roscosmos and CNSA signed a program of cooperation in the field of space for 2018-2022. It includes six sections, including the study of the Moon and deep space, space science and related technologies, satellites and their applications, elements and materials, cooperation in the field of remote sensing data, and other topics. Working subgroups were created to implement projects under this program.
