As reported by the Ukrainian resource"Ukrainian Military Portal", the Ukrainian state enterprise "State Kiev Design Bureau "Luch" at the next defense-industrial exhibition "Zbroya ta Bezpeka-2021" held in Kiev from June 15 to 18, 2021, presented materials on the advanced project of the medium-range anti-aircraft missile system being developed by it.

The basis of the project of the complex GKKB "Luch" is an anti-aircraft guided missile, developed on the basis of the corrected missile of the high-precision system "Vilkha" created by the GKKB "Luch" for combat vehicles of the 300-mm MLRS "Smerch". It is stated that this missile system will be able to hit targets at a distance of more than 100 km. The anti-aircraft guided missile will receive an active or passive radar homing head of the same type as those used by the Luch GKKB during the modernization of the S-125M Pechora air defense system for Angola.
The complex should include self-propelled launchers on an 8x8 automobile chassis (apparently, Tatra) with a four-shot vertical launch package, structurally similar to that used in the Soviet S-300P series air defense systems (most likely, it is simply supposed to use the designs of Soviet-made cash PU from the S-300P). A mock-up of the launcher is being demonstrated by the Luch SCCB at the Zbroya ta Bezpeka-2021 exhibition. Also, the ZRK should include a multifunctional radar 80K6KS1 developed by the State Enterprise " NPK "Iskra" (Zaporozhye).
Earlier, the general designer of the State Design Bureau "Luch" Oleg Korostelev optimistically stated that to create a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile system of medium range, its bureau needs "2.5 years". However, as can be understood, as in the case of the recently demonstrated project of the Kilchen air defense system, proposed by the State Enterprise "Yuzhnoye Design Bureau" (Dnepropetrovsk), the actual financing of these developments by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is not conducted.
